MABON - AUTUMN EQUINOX Pendant
Welcome in the Seasons!
The Autumn Equinox, is also known as Mabon in the Pagan Wheel of the Year. Yet again we welcome in a time when day and night are equal in length, this occurs at both the spring and autumn equinox. The word has Latin origins and means 'equal night'.
The name 'Mabon' is a fairly modern concept, the name coming from Welsh Mabon ap Modron, which means “Son of the Mother,”. It sits opposite Ostara in the Pagan Wheel of the Year.
This sabbat was very hard to choose a final design, so I have decided to offer both as a one off offering! Wheat, squash, acorns and berries all symbolise the gathering in of nature's bounty at the harvest time. The Autumn Equinox provides a time to reflect on balance, day and night, abundance and scarcity. A time to think about what you may be harvesting or reflection on your year so far.
This is the third of a limited collection of 4 pendants, each celebrating a season or ‘sabbat’ in the calendar. Each will be available on the date of the festival for a month, as a made to order style. After that the listing will close until next year.
Ostara | Spring Equinox | 20th March
Litha | Summer Solstice | 20th June
Mabon | Autumn Equinox | 22nd September
Yule | Winter Solstice | 21st December
Each MABON AUTUMN EXUINOX pendant has been hand made and finished by me from a wax original. The same mould is used to create each piece but due to the hand made nature of the design each will be slightly different and therefore unique to you.
These pendants each have a hand made bail attached to the piece, ready to hand from your favourite chain. The outer diameter of the jump ring measures 6mm, inner diameter is approx 4mm.
Each pendant measures approx 2cm high x 1.5cm wide, with a total length of 2.6cm inc attached jump ring.
Pendant is pictured on an 18” chain.
Listings are for 9ct gold, sterling silver and bronze.
All pendants are made to order, so please expect an approx 4-6 week wait from order to delivery.
