ANCESTOR Stone Pendants
The ANCESTOR pendant is made using found stones, polished and hand drilled, found here in the UK.
The naming of this design was based on the idea (popularised by Mike Parker Pearson I believe) that stone monuments like Stonehenge were made to honour the ancestors, whereas places like Woodhenge were for the living. I really love the nature of the permanence of stone.
Each one is paired with a 9ct gold WELKIN star, which keeps the pendant in it's 9ct gold wire setting. The WELKIN star features a simplified 8 pointed star design, inspired by the night skies visible and mapped by the ancients at West Kennet.
A mix of traditional precious and non-precious materials. Each stone is softly polished and has a beautiful tactile feel when held. Each stone is a work of Nature’s art!
Each pendant features a different stone, the listings are for the currently available pendants. You can choose which one you would like to purchase in the menu below.
Ancestor 1 for example measures 2.8cm high and 2.3cm at widest point, (not including gold bail). Ancestor 3 measures 2.2cm high and 2cm at widest point (not including bail).
Diameter of the gold wire bails are approx 0.4cm (inner diameter 0.3cm). Gold wire used is a mix of 0.8mm on the larger pendants and 0.6mm on the smaller.
Each 9ct gold wire + stone pendant come with a full set of UK hallmarks.
